Red Carbon

Thinking of purchasing 'Red Carbon', but a few questions first:

- Ideally we'd love a blue or even grey carbon, similar to the live theme used on forum here is such a thing possible?

- The demo forum does not seem to have 'Quick Reply' active - is this available at all in the style?

- Tabs 1) We'd be wanting to vary the tab buttons on the top of the style to add items such as 'Reviews', 'Blogs', etc - as the tabs seem to use mouse overs does this mean we have to design new buttons or can this be accomplished via CSS etc changes? If so is it easy to do?

- Tabs 2) Idealy we'd love to use split level tabs a seen on the maikn site here, again is that easy to accomplish?

- Width, the style appears to be fluid but of about 70-80% page width, are there any issues / problems with increasing this to 90/100% and if so is it easy to do?

Cheers in advance.

Hi tekguru,

Happy holidays

Yes of course, I can help you with color changes though we normally charge a small fee.

Yes it is, Thanks for letting me know, I'll update the demo forum to show this.

The navigation on Red Carbon is entirely css based which means it is flexible enough to easily add and take away buttons with minimum effort. (We'll be putting a help centre online within the coming weeks to fully document this and other similar queries)

Yes this is quite easily possible though it would require some editing of the templates. Of course I would be more than happy to help you achieve this.

I code all my styles to work fine fluid or fixed at any range so there should be no problem there.

If you have any other queries please don't hesitate to ask

Regards,

Re: Red Carbon

Thanks for the data

A few more questions (some of which I forgot originally):

- Is the style XHTML certified?
- Are there any issued on using it with vBadvanced?
- Are all the 3.6.8 hooks in there (asking as in our current style a fair few had been omitted)
- Are there any additional charges when it comes to moving from a 3.6.8 to a 3.7.x version of the style?
- Ref the colour changes are these able to be done within the CSS editor inside the style editor or does one have to amend external CSS?
- Ref the colour variations again I assume that there would not be a problem on using more than one variant at a time that is for closed forums we'd probably want to use a different colour to remind folks they are in a closed area?
- It looks like the style has been engineered to use hardly any images and to use CSS where possible - that is it would assist in reducing server load compared to a style that uses heavy graphics. Is this correct?
- Are graphic templates provided with the style to allow designers to easily add additional buttons / logos, etc.
- Currently we run with avatars and other data in the postbit, I assume that these would still be visible under the style?
- In the demo things like thread tools are not visible are these still located where one would expect in vB?

Looking forward to your reply. Sorry for a lot of questions but I've purchased other styles recently that have not worked out at all and the money has been in effect wasted!

Hopefully if the above are all positive we'll be looking to order tomorrow

Currently the 3.6.8 version of this style isn't (though this has been rectified for the 3.7 version)

Quote:

With the 3.6.8 2 templates must be altered. Our 3.7 version includes a vBAdvanced Add-On which includes all the template changes.

Quote:

Yes all vBulletin hooks are still placed.

None whatsoever, our 3.7 version will be released within the next couple of days (or when Jelsoft release a stable version of 3.7)

The colour changes are done with the css editor inside the style editor, but 3 images must be updated (tcat_bg, tcat_left, tcat-right)

This could be done by duplicating the style, altering the colours and then making sure closed forums are forced to use the duplicated style.

Correct , my stlye are designed to be clean and usable.

Quote:

Yes PSD files are provided

Yes, it shouldn't be a problem, if you run into any problems, I would be happy to help.

hmm, strange, I can see thread tools just fine. Which browser/OS do you use?

Re: Red Carbon

Thanks for the reply......

- Okay I see the 3.6.8 version is not XHTML validated as running the validator over the style demo gives 35 errors, is it not possble to fix these in the current theme?

- For the 3.6.8 version and vBAdvanced are the template edits complex / numerous and is data available to allow us to make the edits? Is there no way the add-on 3.7.x can be back ported to 3.6.8?

You can forget the question over thread tools I'd forgotten to log into the demo system

These are my only concerns now as we strive to remain XHTML compliant and need to use vBAdvanced.

Cheers
