i was looking at maybe purchasing red carbon. just wanted to check how hard it would be to move the avatars from on top to the left of posts. And also is it very hard to change the font colour of the forum headings.

Go to the AdminCP -> Open vBulletin Options -> Click vBulletin Options -> select Style & Language Settings and click Edit Settings -> Scroll down to Legacy (Vertical) Postbit Template, Select YES and click Save.

That's all there is to it, no matter what style you are running, including the default style.
