Good news, do we replace or merge the 3.6.9 skin onto the 3.6.8?

Hello,

You should merge the 3.6.9 skin onto the 3.6.8. You can find full upgrade information in our documentation.

Re: Upgrade Notice - vBulletin 3.6.9, vBulletin 3.7.0 (RC2)

Chris what is the impact of not upgrading the templates - any ideas?

Asking as I've just loaded the new RC 3.6.9 style and I'm seeing a lot of work ahead judging by the style upload on my test system.

None of my custom template edits have been retained and the edits I've tried so far to put them back seem not to be working. For example the edits for the advert system.

However this was only a very quick investigation as little time remains before we leave on holiday this comimng weekend.

Also seeing some native style problems excluding the mods like curved base images on the portal being out of place.

Will investigate more once we get back but I'm tempted to either leave the upgrade until 3.7.x is out as this will be have to be done again I assume, or try running 3.6.9 with the 3.6.8 templates.......

Thougths?

Cheers

Unfortunately there is no way to retain custom edits and upgrade the style.

You will be able to run 3.6.9 with 3.6.8 templates without many problems as most of the edits are small. I would recommend you hold off doing alot of work upgrading your templates to 3.6.9 as 3.7 shouldn't be long around the corner.

As per the support ticket all the edits are now in and working apart from one issue which I may need your help so resolve.

Re: Upgrade Notice - vBulletin 3.6.9, vBulletin 3.7.0 (RC2)

Is the Redcarbon RC2 upgrade packet a bogus file ?

I can download it fine but when I upload it to my forums NONE of the file dates change.

I am having NO issue with my FTP client and its only the redcarbon rc2 file acts this way.

This is odd, other users have not reported any problems. Are you getting "out of date" template messages?

If the problem persits please open a support thread and I'll help you out as soon as possible.

Re: Upgrade Notice - vBulletin 3.6.9, vBulletin 3.7.0 (RC2)

Vbulletin now has RC3 out which came out yesterday. Looks like a few bug's got fixed. This should be the last RC i think and the final will roll out next time.

After you upgrade to the latest version, always check with your template designer before reverting templates. They may only have to make 2 or 3 changes to the template for it to work. Save's you a whole lot of time. I know from experience in the past. lol
